E-bay not good to crafters in my opinion. You just can't get a good price for your time and creative work. People are on e-bay to be cheap, not support the arts--no offense--Ieveryone's trying to save money! I have my own website and also list on other free sites. is one. Also, on the Lion Brand website, there's a boutique to sell stuff Good Luck!

Answer 1start on ebay, see what you can get out of them, so that should give you some sort of price range if you decided to make a website from there
Answer 2To start with, ebay is better.... once you have an established customer base, you may want to start your own website....
Answer 3Why not start selling on ebay since it's already set up and if it works out then take the money you make and invest in starting your own site and if it doesn't work out on ebay then you haven't lost anything.
Answer 4Use eBay as a launching point since millions of people use that website every day. If you are successful, you can open an eBay store on the website as well as establish another personal website or even an actual store later on. Try the auctions to also gage how much you can sell your wares for as well.

Answer 7more people would see them on Ebay. You can start out on ebay then get an ebay store and then go on to your own website. That way people witll know that you are out there.
Answer 8With eBay, you have a better chance for exposure (everybody shops eBay). Let me warn you though, I just started my eBay store and to upload 31 listings, my fees were $104 and that's not counting my monthly charge. I still have about 100 more listings to write and upload. Good luck!
Answer 9I would say to start your own website, because the Ebay fees are getting really high. If you don't sell an item on Ebay, you still have to pay money for listing it. You may have to pay a fee to get an advertising listing for your site, but I think it's better in the long run. JMHO
Answer 10I recommend Etsy over your own website and ebay. It's specifially for people who want to sell their handmade goods. I know a lot of the people I talk to on a few sites have shops on etsy and have a pretty strong customer base. /
